Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson suffered PTSD and now has a stoma bag following her 'catastrophic' birth in November 2021.

TV star Louise Thompson has called for more perinatal health funding to be made available in the UK after she nearly died having son Leo. The 34-year-old former Made In Chelsea star – who welcomed two-year-old Leo with fiancé Ryan Libbey in November 2021 – had a ‘catastrophic’ labour led that to a series of complications.

‘I was left to figure out what to do on my own’ The reality TV star and influencer, who has just released the book Lucky: Learning to Live Again about her ordeal, said the system has to ‘change’ as there was ‘no coordination of care’ or ‘safe space to go for support’ for postpartum women who are struggling with perinatal trauma or other mental health disorders.

‘I wouldn’t have got through as a single parent’ Despite giving birth at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, she was not able to access mental health care there as she didn’t live in the area. ‘Our system has got to change and I want to be part of that. Last year, I would have told you that I was the unluckiest person I knew. Now being able to count those blessings is a sign that I’m getting better, as is being able to play with my beautiful son.’
