Significant traffic is expected on the Malahat and on Highway 4 near Cameron Lake.
The province is warning drivers travelling on Vancouvear Island over the Canada Day long weekend to plan ahead and avoid peak travel times if possible.
The ministry is recommending travellers leave early in the morning or late in the evening, when traffic is expected to be lighter.
