If you live along Junction Creek, you could receive site-specific planting plans and up to 50 free native plants per site front eh Junction Creek Stewardship Committee
A new shoreline planting program from the Junction Creek Planning Committee for landowners along the creek will help restore shoreline habitat and prevent erosion.
This year, the JCSC is collaborating with Watersheds Canada and community partners to deliver the Natural Edge Program to targeted landowners along Junction Creek, focusing on impaired sites that lack shoreline vegetation or exhibit signs of erosion. Through this funded program, the JCSC will work with landowners along Junction Creek to develop site specific planting plans and provide up to 50 free native plants per site.
This will improve the vegetative buffer along Sudbury’s central urban waterway to help stabilize eroding shorelines, improve stream health, increase biodiversity, and strengthen climate change resiliency. Space is limited! If you have property along Junction Creek and think you would qualify for this program, please email [email protected].
