It’s time for the courts in this province to put a stop to this and allow this project to move forward.

HDI isn’t a legally recognized band, and the chief of the Six Nations of the Grand River has written to Metrolinx asking them to stop dealing with the organization. On Oct. 31, 2022, Detlor wrote to the chief planner at Metrolinx, saying that HDI wanted $200 for every tree cut down to build the Ontario Line. Estimated to be in the order of 1,200 to 1,700 trees, that would work out to a $340,000 payment.
