A few places I have noticed affect the pedestrians and cyclists on the sidewalk during rainy and wintery days.

On University Avenue, which is usually busy with pedestrians and cyclists, there is a low-lying area by the union of public sector employment, where water gets collected during rainy days and winters when the snow melts. This causes problems for the pedestrians to walk and commute to their destination. The other problem caused in that area is by vehicle drivers. They do not notice the water and drive through that area at high speed and splash water on the pedestrians.

Nothing much can be done by the pedestrians about the issue, but awareness can be spread among the vehicle drivers about the law and government bodies pay attention to the road issues and deal with them in a timely manner.SaltWire Network welcomes letters on matters of public interest for publication.
