Pinwheel Farm P.E.I. has 100,000 pinwheels. They are every colour of the rainbow. There was one display that took 27 people one month to complete. The staff literally added hundreds of pinwheels to clothesline wire, that stretched for many, many feet. The displays were built in the barn. They have a very large purple barn, lawn swing and bridge. It is located next to the St. John's Anglican Church in Milton. It was the Meridan Farm, owned by Brian Andrews. The new owners are from China. They purchased the farm in March 2022 and have transformed it in to a pinwheel wonderland. They have planted countless flowers and shrubs. It has many acres, and room to expand. The present attractions include a train, bike peddle cart, and countless pinwheel displays.
A beautiful lavendar field was our first stop. It has large flower arches, suitable for wedding photos. There is also a gazebo, pews and large tent with chairs down both sides. It could easily host a family reunion, wedding, birthday party or school trip. Our grandchildren enjoyed the ducks, bunnies and ponies.
There are also lots of picnic tables. Food is sold, but I would highly recommend bringing a picnic lunch. You will want to spend a whole morning or afternoon. This is a unique family experience. Apparently, there are pinwheel farms in China. We were lucky we chose a beautiful day with a light breeze. The colourful pinwheels were all spinning in the wind. This is a very nice attraction, and is close to Charlottetown.
