Intel's codename Battlemage GPUs will be revealed on Tuesday and on paper, they look like an interesting prospect.
So far leaks have revealed details for two of the GPUs expected to be announced with availability slated for later this month.
On Tuesday, Intel will reportedly reveal its next line of GPUs. The original Arc series launched in 2022 and it is about time for a refresh and that refresh is being called Battlemage. The cards will be announced on Tuesday with the official launch reportedly slated for 12th December and board partner cards launching on 13th December. So far leaks have revealed two GPUs in the Battlemage family butThe Intel Arc B580 is the card with the most information.
The other variant that was brought to light by leaks is the Intel Arc B570. This iteration of Battlemage will run at 2.6GHz with lower max memory bandwidth and just 10GB of GDDR6. While we had hoped that Intel’s entry into the GPU market would stoke the fires of competition and bring the cost of components down, an AI boom at around the same time has done the opposite as manufacturers shift their attention from gaming to enterprise AI solutions. We’ll have more details on the Battlemage cards later this week but our curiosity is definitely piqued by these leaks. We just hope that these cards are more competitive than the first generation of Arc cards.
