THUNDER BAY — The city's annual spring leaf and yard waste collection will begin on Tuesday, May 16 and wrap up on Friday, May 26.
Residents can place leaf and yard waste, in kraft paper bags, for collection on their regular recycling day. Branches and sticks, bundled with rope or twine, will also be accepted, but must be less than one metre long and 61 centimetres in diameter.The leaf and yard waste will be taken the city's solid waste and recycling facility, where it will be turned into soil-enriching compost.
