Storm damages homes, snaps trees in Laurentians as storm touched down near Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, about 100 kilometres northwest of Montreal

A meteorologist with Environment Canada says there’s a chance Quebec could be hit with more severe weather today after a possible tornado whipped through the Laurentians.

The national weather agency says a storm touched down near Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, about 100 kilometres northwest of Montreal, on Saturday evening.Meanwhile, Hydro-Québec is reporting major ongoing outages in the area affecting hundreds of customers. Environment Canada meteorologist Peter Kimbell says more analysis is needed to confirm that there was a tornado and determine its strength.

Kimbell warns there’s the potential for more severe weather today, but says he can’t predict how serious it could be.
