The Benoni Northerns Athletics Club invites runners, walkers and children of all fitness levels to the Benoni Northerns Night Race, sponsored by Jan L Jordaan Attorneys Inc. on October 23.

“Young athletes representing their school must wear school PT or sports kits for their school to be eligible. Children must be 15 years old to do the 10km. There is no age restriction for the 5km but children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult,” said club administrator and race organiser Kerry Webb.

“We manually timed the 5km in 2022 and 2023 but due to the growing field and with a focus on delivering a real-road-race experience for young athletes, we have introduced electronic timing on the 5km this year, while keeping the entry fee the same as previous years,” Webb said. The BNAC Night Race is a proudly local event, with club members working together to make it happen, locals have volunteered to host water stations and others show their support.
