'He would be a pretty good striker for them as well' Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says Darwin Nunez would score more goals if he played for Manchester City. SLInt MORE:
The Uruguayan striker made the move to the Reds from Benfica in the last transfer window, but has struggled to replicate the form he showed in Portugal.Nunez has netted just three goals in nine appearances across all competitions, but the German tactician suggested that figure would be bigger if the striker had joined the Citizens.
"Let me say it like this, I think Darwin Nunez would have scored a couple more goals if he had played in the centre of Man City this season," Klopp said, as per Goal. "He would be a pretty good striker for them as well, finishing the situations off. We have to improve our game to bring him more often in these situations.
"I don't know, but I hope it is not in a process where he compares himself with Erling Haaland. I think he is really making steps here, you could see it in his face his goal [against Rangers on Wednesday] was really important for him." Nunez will be hoping to add to his goal tally on Sunday evening when the Reds the defending champions at Anfield.
