SaltWire Network | Posted: 22 hours ago | Updated: 19 hours ago | 3 Min ReadThis is the latest court report for Kings and West Hants counties.Miranda Lillian Johnston, 25, of Hantsport, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for operating a conveyance while prohibited from doing so; and for willfully obstructing a peace officer engaged in the execution of his duty.
Johnston changed her pleas to guilty on the charges of driving while prohibited and refusing to comply with a demand on May 27. The matters were adjourned to July 22 for sentencing. Johnston pleaded guilty to the obstruction charge on July 22. Johnston committed the offences in Wentworth Creek on May 7, 2021; and in Auburn on May 12, 2021. Another count of operating a conveyance while prohibited was withdrawn on July 22.Catlin Rodney Xavier Reese, 28, of Berwick, has been fined for having a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit within two hours after ceasing to operate a conveyance.
Reese committed the offence in Berwick on May 14. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Reese gave breathalyser readings of 190 and 200.
