King Charles III is reportedly looking to convert part of the Balmoral Castle royal residence in Aberdeenshire into a venue open to the public for weddings, meetings, and more.
Scotland is home to countless beautiful weddings venues. However, those looking to add a touch of royal luxury to their big day may soon be able to be wed on the famous 19th-century estate near Ballater.
As reported by The Times, events taking place at the Queen's Building would be a "rare" occurrence if plans go ahead. However, the move could help fund Balmoral's reported £3 million yearly upkeep. As part of the application, a "major variation" to the building has been requested. This would include alterations to its layout and capacity, as well as the use of a patio outside.
Balmoral Castle is currently open to the public as a tourist attraction. Visitors can explore its grounds, take part in guided tours, and eat at its recently refurbished restaurant.
