But now you must turn your attention to banknotes. Paper featuring King Charles III have started to trickle into circulation, although they remain elusive. The Bank of England got the ball rolling in June, releasing notes bearing the likeness of the new monarch alongside those depicting Queen Elizabeth II.
Further advice from the currency expert includes: "New banknotes featuring King Charles III have entered circulation but it may be some time before they're commonly seen in wallets and purses." Wrapping up his guidance, he states: "So what you need to look for is CA01 0000003, this has an estimate of £4,000. The King Charles banknotes are now in UK circulation and are being found daily, so remember you are looking for low serial numbers as the first set is out somewhere."
