Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has set the record straight on the swirling rumours about Asanele Velebayi and Fawaaz Basadien. In a recent interview with“We did make an official offer to Cape Town Spurs. We had engaged with them. Of course, Spurs they priced their player the way they see fit.” He further added, “An important point I want to clear up is that we’ve never spoken to the player, never spoken to his parents.
Motaung Jr. emphasised the club’s stance on player discussions, stating, “It’s also tough to talk about players who belong to other teams. It’s not very professional to do that in the media every week. That kind of causes destabilisation within other teams.”With the transfer window set to close on 20 September, Kaizer Chiefs may still pursue deals for Asanele Velebayi or Fawaaz Basadien, despite recent setbacks.
