UPDATE: JSO reports a 13-year-old got a gun out from the home’s safe, shooting himself in the hand and hitting his 10-year-old brother in the thigh. Both have non-life-threatening injuries.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported two kids injured in a shooting at 1700 South San Pablo Road.JSO reports the 13-year-old obtained the gun from the home’s gun safe. As he was holding the gun he shot himself in the hand, and the bullet went through his hand and struck his 13-year-old brother in the upper leg.Their mother was working during this time, and it is unknown where the father was located.
