A man who claimed his baby's injuries were from 'just bumping into things' has been jailed for GBH
A man from Wisbech has been jailed for shaking his infant son so severely he was left with a bleed on the brain.The man, who was in his twenties and can't be named for legal reasons, was looking after the boy by himself.
The man later pleaded guilty to GBH without intent and was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday where he was handed one year and eight months in prison. DC Amanda Sylvester of Cambridgeshire Police, who investigated, said: “This was a shocking and upsetting case in which a boy of just 10 months old suffered significant injuries. His father was one of the people he relied upon to keep him safe but he did the opposite.
