Affleck, who has been with the course since 1980, said by the time the fire department arrived, there was no saving the clubhouse, even if firefighters had been able to battle the blaze. “This was Juan and Dorian put together,’’ Affleck said, referring to the storms that hit P.E.I. in 2003 and 2019, respectively. “I would say we’ve lost at least 1,000 trees over the whole golf course. We planted a lot of trees in 1992 and they are all gone.’’
