'It feels great to be back': Cale Makar hosts Stanley Cup meet-and-greet at Crowchild Twin Arena yyc
“It’s great to be back where it all began,” said the NHL star. “I have a lot of memories here, so being able to step back on the ice here has been awesome.”
Thursday’s event began with Makar taking pictures with former coaches, a young hockey team and arena workers at centre ice.Brothers Cole, 11, and Jace, 6, pose for photo after meeting Colorado Avalanche player and Calgarian Cale Makar at Crowchild Twin arena in Calgary on August 11, 2022.“I wish I got to take a picture on the ice with Cale,” said one youngster.The lineup of fans continued all the way down the sheet outside the arena, as some began lining up early for the morning event.
The Stanley Cup winner greeted young kids and fans as they posed in front of the Cup, and he thanked them for their support. Fans sporting Avalanche jerseys poured into the conference room to get a photo with their favourite player.
