Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, who is currently playing his football in Japan, has revealed that he envisions himself returning to the Catalan giants when his career as a player is over. SLInt MORE:
It has been four years since the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner ended his time at the Blaugrana, calling time on a trophy-laden career in Europe to join Japanese side Vissel Kobe in a deal that made him one of the game's highest-paid players.
Iniesta, 38, has since made an impressive 126 appearances for the club, contributing to 51 goals across all competitions, after representing Barcelona on 674 occasions over 16 years. In a recent interview, the former Spain international admitted he would like to return to the club where it all started, but has yet to figure out exactly in which capacity that would be."I'd like to return to Barcelona, but I don't know which role. Coach, sporting director or other.The Spaniard is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of all time, having claimed three major international trophies and four UEFA Champions League titles.
Iniesta was named in the FIFA FIFPro World XI in nine consecutive years between 2009 and 2017, while he won the LaLiga best midfielder prize five times between 2009 and 2014.
