'I’m ready to put it on paper, put it on the hardwood, and get going,' says Jerry Williams; training camp begins Jan. 7 in St. John's

Even though the season is still a month away from starting, Williams ready for the San Deigo Sharks, the London Lightning and anyone else in The Basketball League to come to town. This deep dive into the Lightning and the rest of the TBL should come as no surprise to anyone who follows basketball in St. John’s.

Williams sees the TBL as playing a more NBA-style game than the one fans got to see briefly last year when the ABA came to town.A post shared by Newfoundland Rogues “It's the NBA-style play,” he said. “We're going to get up and down we're going try to score as many points as we can and play a lot of great defense. That’s my main objective.”

St. John’s guard Deng Ring sees playing with the Newfoundland Rogues as an excellent opportunity and is looking forward to getting the season started. - Photo courtesy Newfoundland Rogues “This should be an exciting or cool experience, and something, ultimately, I just can't find myself turning down,” said Ring.
