Tamantanga opened in Leeds earlier this summer after enjoying success in other cities across the UK
In recent months, we’ve seen Tamatanga become a new option to the lengthy offering. In time for National Curry Week , I paid a visit to Tamatanga to discover if it is a worthy addition.
The other very noticeable factor was just how busy the venue was. Clearly, Tamatanga has arrived in Leeds with something of a reputation. A quirky trait of Tamatanga is that when your individual dish is ready it’ll be quickly with you on the table, when it is ready, even if the rest of your order isn’t. Something many of you reading will be accustomed to, I’m sure, from various different eateries which operate similarly.
That aside, our meals, complemented with a side of five spice aloo and an onion bhaji, where flavoursome and felt very authentic despite the modern glistening setting. As the menu presentation is somewhat deconstructed, and those plentiful array of sides do look rather appealing, just warned they can quickly stack up in price. At least, there’s a sense of quality in what you are paying for.
