Following the vote, Trump posted on Twitter that he would be making a public statement on Thursday at noon from the White House to"discuss our country's victory on the impeachment hoax." Romney's casting a vote in favor of convicting Trump made him the first senator in America's history to support convicting a president from a lawmaker's own party.
