Lara Trump, who is married to the president's middle son Eric, told Carlson the 2020 race has a"very unique Democratic field."
Carlson asked Trump if she thought it was strange that there is no clear frontrunner because the Democratic Party's sole focus is defeating the president with any candidate able to do so. "So maybe they should have spent their time, I don't know, vetting better candidates and trying to find people that are likable as candidates Instead, they tried to impeach the president, they've put us forward the Russia collusion hoax, they worked against him at every single turn.
Polling frequently shows many or all of the leading Democratic candidates ahead of the president in one-on-ones.found Sanders led Trump among registered voters by the widest margin of all the Democratic candidates, at 52 percent to 43 percent, a nine-point advantage. Next was former vice president Joe Biden at 50 percent to Trump's 43 percent.
