Disney has many billion-dollar movies, but while its Chronicles of Narnia series grossed over a billion, it's one of the studio's few failures.

Disney's Chronicles of Narnia movie franchise had an incredible start at the box office, but the very next movie was a box office bomb. 2005's The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a movie adaptation of the incredibly popular C.S. Lewis novel of the same name. The book is one of the most iconic fantasy novels of the 20th Century, and it's the first book of the Chronicles of Narnia series, which is made up of seven.

Prince Caspian also faced major competition at the box office, as it was facing off against Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man. This was at a time when Disney didn't own Marvel Studios and when Iron Man wasn't a popular superhero character. Disney likely thought that the movie wasn't a threat, but Iron Man became a surprise hit.
