Houston-area high school baseball top performers: Alvin's Cooper Williams dominates
A look at some of the top performers from the past week of Houston high school baseball action.Adams recorded 19 strikeouts in eight innings as the Spartans beat Nacogdoches 7-3 to clinch the District 16-5A championship for the first time in school history. The Alabama signee issued no walks while throwing 91 of his 113 pitches for strikes.Cuotto launched a walkoff three-run home run to lift Foster past first-place Fulshear 6-5 in District 20-5A action.
Hale got the win after throwing five innings of one-hit ball with six strikeouts to help Grand Oaks beat Cleveland 7-0 in the District 13-6A finale and clinch a playoff spot for the third straight season. The junior also went 1-for-2 with a home run.Skelly threw three straight curveballs to strikeout LSU commit Casan Evans with a runner on third base, securing the save in a 2-1 victory over St. Pius X.
