Some rain is expected
While January is expected to see the return of more extreme conditions, we look set to be in for a mild Christmas Day across Nottinghamshire. MET Office forecasters are predicting temperatures of around 8-10C throughout the day.
While the majority of the day is forecast to be clear at this stage, some rain has also bee forecast for the evening. It comes as gong-range forecasters are predicting an Arctic blast in January with the arrival of snow. More extreme conditions are currently being experienced in other parts of the world, with parts of America currently experiencing heavy snow blizzards and freezing temperatures. Here in Nottinghamshire, the MET Office predicts.
The long range forecast covering the period from January 7 until January 21 states: "Confidence remains low into mid-January. There is a signal for generally settled conditions, although some periods of wet and windy weather are still possible and with this will come the chance of snow. Temperatures are likely to be around or a little below normal, with colder conditions perhaps developing again by mid-January.
