A pensioner from Burnley has revealed she will be using newspaper to keep her warm as she struggles to cope with rising energy prices.
“Coming here means you can relax, have a drink or some food and be warm, and you don’t have to rush off. I grew up in the days when you wore more clothes to bed than you did in the day. Danielle says: “I had to go back to work when my baby was three months old. "I’m a teacher but I couldn’t afford to go back – the childcare was more than £600 a month – so I’m doing something else for now. But if you’re working you don’t get any help so you’re stuck.”
