The community of York Quay was “extremely disappointed” earlier this week to learn the skating rink at Harbourfront Centre will be permanently closed.
York Quay Neighbourhood Association chair Angelo Bertolas said the announcement was made by the Harbourfront Centre during a Zoom meeting on Tuesday.
Harbourfront Centre’s website currently states the rink was closed for the season as construction is underway to “update and refresh” the area. Construction on the new plaza is expected to be completed by the end of summer. Updates are also being made to the main building. The outdoor concert stage has been updated, as well.
