“We have been measuring wind data on site, so we have two meteorological towers up there and then some remote sensing equipment as well,” the Nature Forces representative told council. Natural Forces registered an environmental assessment document with the province in January 2022 and on Jan. 6, they just registered an addendum, which the public can weigh in on until Feb. 5.“I think one of the biggest ones for the municipality is the property tax that will come in from the project,” she said.
Morris said due to the project’s size and scope, it would “be direct to the transmission grid and go to the load.”“As a municipality, we're very concerned about trying to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and as hosts for a wind farm of this size, what is the potential for us to sort of reap carbon credit, for a lack of a better term, or at least some recognition in the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions?” asked Jannasch.
