PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - This past weekend’s Gulf Coast Jam was the most widely attended event in the history of Panama City Beach , leaving residents and officials excited about the potential for hosting even larger events in the future.
“It’s a huge impact, especially considering how this city funds itself, with a 1% business fee or tax that most of the time is paid by visitors,” Jarman explained. The idea of a permanent event structure, such as an event center or amphitheater, has been discussed but remains out of reach due to land constraints. “The city does not have sizeable enough land ownership that is able to be constructed on.
