Mason Greenwood is reportedly already causing a stir in the Manchester United dressing room despite being yet to return to the playing fold.

The Englishman's future has remained a hot topic since the charges of attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behaviour against him were dropped earlier this month. With United conducting their own internal investigation into the matter, it remains to be seen if the 21-year-old, who is still suspended by the club, will return to the playing squad, be released from his contract, or perhaps be sold at the end of the campaign.

Recent reports suggested that United's women's team do not want to see Greenwood being allowed back into the team's training base, with now reporting that the Red Devils' men's players have different views on Greenwood's potential return, causing a divide in the squad. It is said that some of his colleagues are concerned about the forward returning to the playing fold, while others are open to the idea.

The report adds that some of United's commercial partners could distance themselves from the team if Greenwood returns to the first team.reports that the Red Devils' internal investigation will only be concluded at the end of the 2022/23 season, with Greenwood now likely to have to wait until next season before he makes another professional appearance.Despite this, however, the forward will continue to be paid by the club as his contract is set to expire in 2025 only.
