The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges laid against Greenwood earlier this month, but the England international is still subject to an internal investigation by United into the accusations of attempted rape, assault and coercive and controlling behaviour that led to his arrest in early 2022.
Various reports have suggested that United's women's side is not keen to have the 21-year-old return to the club and that some of his teammates share the same sentiment, irrespective of the verdict of the investigation, perhaps leaving the door open for Greenwood to play his football abroad. Should the striker make the move to Turkey, he will join the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Dele Alli and Aaron Lennon as other English stars who have plied their trade in the Eastern European nation.
