The big race is almost upon us and our tipster Bob Cross gives you his selections, for those who fancy a flutter
Arguably the nation's favourite horse race is run on Saturday with the Grand National , and people will be glued to their televisions at 4pm as the tapes go up at Aintree.
There has been quite a bit of rain in Liverpool over the past week and, with more forecast, we could be looking at heavy ground on the big day. CHAMBARD may be 100/1 but the horse does not know its odds and I think the 12-year-old has a fighting chance.

2024 Grand National: Weather forecast for Aintree RacecourseThe 2024 Grand National will take place next week, with the thousands of spectators attending hoping for dry weather. The festival launches with Grand National Thursday on April 11, before Ladies Day on Friday, April 12 and Grand National Day on Saturday, April 13, when the famous steeplechase will take place. The Jockey Club has confirmed Saturday’s race has been brought forward to an earlier time of 4pm to create the best possible ground conditions for the horses.
