The judge rejected Gover’s assertion that he had acted in self-defence, and rejected his argument that the threats were “just talk.”“When men breach non-contact conditions, they are communicating to their former spouses that victims are powerless and that the court is meaningless,” the judge wrote. “This is why a breach of a non-contact bail condition is so much more serious than a breach for being out after curfew.
