itemprop=description content=Glasgow's Chamber of Commerce has been nominated for UK Chamber of the Year.
Glasgow's Chamber of Commerce is the only entry outside of England to be shortlisted for a prestigious award.
In its early days, the Chamber focused on raising the quality of goods produced and lobbying the government to lower taxes, reduce tariffs and abolish smuggling. After Glasgow hosted COP26 in 2021, the Chamber created the Climate Chamber brand with the Congress of Business programme, which was held in May 2023 to inspire change as the city’s business community transitions to net zero.Meanwhile, the Chamber’s Developing the Young Workforce programme has also received recognition for its work in helping to pair Chamber members with young people who are seeking employment and training.
“Like all Chambers of Commerce, our focus is ensuring the success of our members in growing their businesses and encouraging the economic development of our city amidst an ever-changing kaleidoscope of challenges.
