Ryan Williamson from Salvation on the Street is being investigated by police over remarks he made on Pride
A street preacher being investigated by police over remarks ahead of Belfast Pride has had his application to speak at Belfast City Council withdrawn.
Cllr Murray, who is a witness in the case, raised concerns his appearance before council to talk about “the proposed scheme for those who use a PA system in Belfast City Centre ” was inappropriate given the active police probe and an upcoming public consultation on the use of PA systems. A Belfast City Council spokesperson said: “Permission for Mr Williamson to address the full meeting of Belfast City Council on 2 October 2023 was withdrawn on the basis that it would be inappropriate due to an active PSNI investigation.
