Girls star joins American Horror Story star in new political romance series
is described as"a love story and political thriller, chronicling the volatile romance of two very different men who meet in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington".Bomer is due to play the charismatic Hawkins Fuller, who has a successful behind-the-scenes political career and avoids emotional entanglements at all costs.
One day he meets Tim Laughlin,"a young man brimming with idealism and religious faith", and the pair begin a romance, just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn declare a war on"subversives and sexual deviants". Their paths then cross continuously across four decades, as they try to navigate the obstacles that the world puts in their way.
reports that Williams will play Lucy Smith, the daughter of a prominent US Senator, who has known Bomer's character since they were teenagers.
