There has been a boom in the sales of alternative energy sources since the re-emergence of power cuts.
Solar power and generators are some of the options.Johan Fritz of Green Solutions says they've seen a higher number of clients over the past two weeks.
Most areas in South Africa gets about 2,500 hours of sunshine per year, making it a popular alternative.Some retailers are doing so well in the sale of generators, they can't keep up with the demand."We receive a number of callers from as far as Nelspruit and Witbank who are looking for generators." With load-shedding set to continue, South Africans will be looking for other ways to keep the darkness at bay.
