The prestigious Crown Gospel Music Awards have found a new home in Gauteng after being held in Durban for the past 15 years.
"We wanted something that was going to speak to us. Something authentic, that was going to have all different types of churches, and our gospel," she said.
She added that one day she drove from Durban to Johannesburg to share her dream and vision with Recording Industry of South Africa . But to her dismay, she was laughed at and told she was too ambitious, Mbokazi-Nkambule said. "2007, they mocked my idea. They stood up, walked out smoking and they asked - 'you little girl from Umlazi, are you going to do this in your back yard?'. They could not see one category at the time, little did they know that we had a clear vision." You are a woman with amazing fire, if our women in the country can have at least 50% of what you possess, this country would be great.
