“Within this event is the attempt to, in a small way, address multiple issues. We have food affordability and insecurity, then we have sustainability, and we have community.'

Guests to the event will get to see the chef prepare the meal, sample the dish and then take home the recipe and all the ingredients to make the meal with their new know-how, said Cecilia Williams, Fusion Charlottetown communications director., who will talk about high-density urban farming. The cooking demonstrations work to accomplish several goals Fusion Charlottetown has set for itself, said Sarah Outram, president.

“Maybe your money is going to your rent or your food or other things. Maybe you need an event that’s a little more in your price range that you can get a lot out of at the same time,” said Outram. Sarah Outram, left, and Cecilia Williams of Fusion Charlottetown welcome everyone to participate in Fusion Flavours, a series of four cooking demonstrations featuring newcomer chefs, sustainable agriculture and affordable, delicious food. - Alison Jenkins/SaltWire NetworkOutram said her team chose newcomer chefs to share their techniques and food philosophies that are new to P.E.I. and that can benefit everyone.

The group is focused on making Charlottetown a better place to live, work and play for youth 18-40 and the people who support progressive ideas.
