EXCUSIVE: Counsel to the Inquiry said there is 'concern' after Jack did not provide the response on time

Tory Scottish Secretary Alister Jack has been criticised by the UK Covid Inquiry after failing to meet a deadline for evidence.

The UK Inquiry on the response to the pandemic includes a section on Scotland. Evidence gathering is done by way of a ‘Rule 9 request’ which involves the Inquiry asking for evidence. The key decisions taken during the pandemic in relation to Scotland were split between Edinburgh and London. An SNP source said: "Alister Jack has a great deal of explaining to do about his failure to engage with the UK Covid inquiry.”
