Sixteen years on from Maddie McCann's disappearance aged three, the German authorities believe they have a new lead in suspect Christian Brueckner
A BBC Panorama documentary will once again look at the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
The documentary will probe a new line of inquiry being considered by the German authorities. They believe Maddie, who disappeared while on holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, was murdered by a "drifter with a history of sexual violence".
Madeleine McCann was reported missing in May 2007 while on holiday with her parents Kate and Gerry McCann. The then three-year-old girl disappeared after her and her younger twin siblings were left asleep in their apartment while their parents went out to dinner with friends.
