Former IWK Health Centre chief executive officer Tracy Kitch is led out of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal on Thursday after being granted bail pending an appeal of her conviction and five-month jail sentence for defrauding the Halifax hospital. - Steve BruceA former chief executive officer of the IWK Health Centre was granted bail Thursday pending an appeal of her conviction and five-month jail sentence for fraud.

She must remain in Canada but can travel to the United States providing she notifies Halifax Regional Police in advance. Most of the personal expenditures in question were for pre-purchased Air Canada flight passes for travel between Halifax and Toronto, where Kitch’s family was living. The expenses also involved smaller charges for taxis, hotels, baggage, flight changes and meals.
