Football and transfer news, EFL reaction and Premier League build-up as pre-season fixtures come to an end.
Chelsea are weighing up a move to re-sign Portugal forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid after talks for the La Liga side's Spain youth international striker Samu Omorodion collapsed. Multiple sources have described how talks over personal terms between the Blues and Omorodion, 20, collapsed last night after a £34.5m transfer fee was agreed last week.
Chelsea are now considering a move for Felix, among a host of other attacking options, after meeting with his agent Jorge Mendes while completing a move for Wolves winger Pedro Neto on Sunday. Felix, 24, is open to a return to Stamford Bridge, where he enjoyed his six months on loan during the 2022-23 season. BBC Sport understand Atletico value Felix at around £43m.
