Rainfall is expected overnight until Wednesday, reaching between 15 to 25 mm and 50 mm in some areas
The Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority says moderate rainfall is expected overnight until Wednesday.
The weather forecast indicates moderate rainfall overnight through Wednesday. Total rainfall amounts are expected to be 15 to 25 mm. In some areas, rainfall amounts may exceed 50 mm due to severe thunderstorms. There is a chance of damaging winds and possibly an isolated tornado on Wednesday. The flood control channels owned and maintained by the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority are currently flowing at normal levels. The flood control channels will experience a rise in water levels. It is important to remember that the water in rivers, streams and the channels will be fast flowing during and after the rainfall event.
