Rookie William Shields had a three-point performance, which included a goal and two assists, while Samuel Johnston had a goal and an assist. Jordan Côté, Olivier Houde and CarterAlexis Michaud had two goals, while Lucas Romeo and Kieran Gallant added single markers for the Islanders . Cape Breton's Nicolas Ruccia made 36 saves. Charlottetown's Jack Flanagan allowed four goals on 18 shots before being replaced by Francesco Lapenna, who stopped 11 of 12 shots in his 34:33 of relief. Lapenna was tagged with the loss.
Charlottetown outshot Cape Breton 40-30 while going 1-for-5 on the power play. The Eagles also went 1-for-5 with the man-advantage. The Eagles will look to make it six wins in a row on Sunday when they host the Chicoutimi Saguenéens at 3 p.m. at Centre 200 in Sydney.
