“We’ve got a lot of authentic resources as well, with that comes risk. For example, we’ve got china, which if dropped it will get broken, but the idea is if children place with plastic all the time they can often get dropped and never see a consequence from that, so it’s about having small amounts of risk - it’s how children learn.”
The preschool is aimed at two, three and four year-olds and the holiday club is aimed at three to 11 year olds. Jessica, mum-of-one from East Leake, added that sustainability is an important focus for them also, she said: “We wanted to be sustainable so we sourced a lot of things from charity shops, carboots. We use cardboard things, we just want to be very sustainable. We don’t want to create waste and plastic.”
