Treatment can give Tramaine a little more time with loved ones

Family and friends of a Nottingham boy who has received devastating cancer news are fundraising to make his time left as memorable and comfortable as possible. Tramaine Donachie, four, was first diagnosed with aggressive cancer, neuroblastoma, in August 2021, which has left him blind.

Friends and family will walk from Nottingham to Skegness on Saturday, July 29. Those taking part in the walk will dress up as superheroes as a nod to the little one's love for Batman and Iron Man. "We just feel totally useless at the moment, so we wanted to do something that made us feel like we're doing at least something to try and make life better for her [Leah].

Tramaine, now fully blind, started chemotherapy shortly after which helped shrink the tumour in his stomach but wasn’t effective against the cancer in the bones of his face. He then started another type of chemotherapy which started to reduce this cancer, and by January 2022, his tumour was small enough for doctors to move on to the next stage of treatment.
