A fire early Sunday morning at a semi-detached house in Singapore prompted the evacuation of 35 residents. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, preventing injuries.
Firefighters from the Singapore Civil Defence Force extinguished a blaze that engulfed a semi-detached house along East Coast Road early Sunday morning (Jan 5). The fire broke out at 12.45am at 305 East Coast Road , prompting the evacuation of 35 residents from neighboring units. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters from the Kallang and Paya Lebar Fire Stations found flames had engulfed the first floor of the vacant three-story house, spreading to the upper floors.
Firefighters conducted forcible entry, using two water jets to contain the fire and deploying a combined platform ladder for aerial firefighting. The fire was fully extinguished around 3am. The upper floors of the house sustained smoke and burn damage, and an adjacent unit was also partially affected. While there were no reported injuries, residents expressed gratitude to the firefighters and good Samaritans who helped evacuate them
